About Us

The Northern Beaches Dragon Boat Club (NBDBC) was formed in 1997 and has competed with great success in Mixed, Womens, Mens, Open and Masters races since this time.

The NBDBC train on Sunday mornings at Manly and once Daylight Savings starts, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well. Northern Beaches Dragon Boat Club have a special relationship with the Navy Paddlers, based at Garden Island in the city. We join together on competition days to compete as one team. The other great benefit is that Northern Beaches paddlers can train at Garden Island with the Navy paddlers at 6am on Tuesday and Friday mornings if they wish and vice versa. The NBDBC caters for all ages and we pride ourselves on being very sociable as well as competitive. By "sociable" we mean regular BBQ's, bowling, movies, paintball, picnics. The NBDBC club is currrently made up of Ozzies, Kiwis, Poms, Scandinavians, Chinese, you name it - we may have it. The NBDBC welcomes all new paddlers who want to paddle in the tranquil surroundings of Manly Cove and surrounding Sydney Harbour side beaches.
