September Newsletter

Welcome everyone to the 1st newsletter for the Northern Beaches Dragon Boat Club.

The new Dragon Boat season is about to start. For those who have missed getting wet, feeling pain, and being pushed, then start warming up. Those who want some exercise, continued friendships and a social atmosphere, your time has come.

Training:

The first training session for the season will commence at 9am on Sunday 14th September. This is for all our old paddlers but if anyone has any friends that are experienced paddlers then they are also welcome. After training we will have a barbeque .

The following Sunday, 21st September, will have the first race for the season which will just be more of a fun event rather than being 100% serious, having said that it would be good to do well (but then again everyone would have only had 1 training session the week before).

On Sunday 28th September we will have our first open day. This will commence at 9 am. A flyer will be circulated to all paddlers so that they can display this at gyms, notice boards or wherever it can be legally displayed to promote new membership.

Weeknight training will start with daylight savings.

Races:

This season we will be members of Dragon Boats NSW Inc. Some of the benefits being the option of a lot more races for us with the opportunity to meet many more teams from around Sydney.

You can find this years race dates on the Dates pages. The teams that we will enter into these events will depend on our numbers at the time.

Subscriptions:

The cost for membership to the club will be the same as last year, $120 for the season. This covers race entry fees, boat hire, public liability insurance, membership to Dragon Boats NSW. Marion is the club Treasurer so see her for renewals and membership forms.
