Welcome
Dragon Boating is an exciting water sport that puts 22 people into one boat with the sole objective of crossing the finish line before other teams. In the greater Sydney area there are over 20 clubs that compete once per month. Of course it's not only about competition... it's a good way to get fit, have fun and meet lots of new friends.
The Northern Beaches Dragon Boat Club (NBDBC) is always on the look-out for new paddlers, sweeps and coaches. Come along and find out for yourself why Dragon Boating is one of the fastest growing water sports in Australia.
For those interested in coming along, all you need is shorts and t-shirt and make sure to bring a water bottle. Click here for directions to the clubhouse.

New Paddler Program Introduced to Northern Beaches!
Northern Beaches Dragon Club now has an introductory training program specifically designed for people who have never paddled before or haven’t paddled for some years.
If you’ve ever thought you might enjoy paddling in a Dragon Boat here’s your chance to give it a go.
Your coach will provide full instructions before you start and once you’re on the water. We’ll buddy you up with an experienced paddler so there’s always someone to help if you need it. The sessions are an easy grade with the key focus on paddle technique, paddling as part of a team, learning Dragon Boat instructions and having fun on the water!
When you feel ready you can move up a grade and join in the regular training sessions.
See our Join Us page to find out what to wear, what to bring and where we are located.
If you’d like to attend a New Paddler Session simply email our Club Secretary (Warwick) nbdbcsecretary@gmail.com and he’ll ensure you have a place in an upcoming session. He can also answer any questions you may have. The best time to start is early in the season ie September-November because the training level slowly builds across the season.
