The Australian National Championships (AusChamps) will be held at the Rowing Course, Weston Park, Yarralumla (on Lake Burley Griffin) in Canberra from 17-22 April 2019.
The AusChamps is an annual event, and is held in a different State/Territory each year. The championships attract approximately 2,500 competitors from clubs all around the country to participate n club vs club and State vs State races.
Racing includes events for several age categories, including up to three Junior/Youth categories, a Premier (open age) category, and three Senior (over age 40) categories. Crews are Womens, Mixed, and Open composition, and race distances are 200m, 500m, and 2,000m, and sometimes 100m and/or 1,000m. The boats are either 'standard' sized, which hold a crew of 22, or 'small', which hold a crew of 12.
